A relaxed excursion into the nature of ‘’Monte Ruke’’! The course starts from Sauris di sopra and by foot it last for about 1-1.5 hrs. At the half-way point there is a welcomed rest at the Monte Ruke Refuge.
Leave your car near the Mairlan B&B, which is a tradition looking house that is on the first street on the left, past the Ethnographic Center museum. We will walk towards the Schotsaite coast, on the Velt meadows, where it takes approximately 20 mins to reach the Monte Ruke refuge, a little museum to remember the magical Saurana traditions. Mrs ‘’Dorna’’ welcomes all with open arms and her home cooked meals are delicious.
In the evening, on out return you may encounter deer and roe bucks. The area of Monte Ruke is an almost flat woodland and at night it becomes an excellent place to find grazing deer.

SUGGESTIONS:
Some useful suggestions!
How to be at one with nature:
Nature deserves respect. Speak quietly so not to disturb the wild animals that use this area as a passage, this is their homeland too. Enjoy the landscape and immerse yourself in the most beautiful and pure surroundings.
Suggestions
Monte Ruke is located on the watershed between the valleys of Rio Sauris and Torrente Lumiei. Therefore, if you wish to leave the path to walk in the woods it is always advisable to walk uphill to avoid slipping down.
